撮影：April 2017 JAPAN　上野恩賜公園は、江戸城の鎮護の寺として建てられた寛永寺に桜が植えられたのが始まり。以後、上野の山が桜の名所となったのは寛永年間(1624～1644年)からで、境内が開放され、現在は園内には上野動物園含むと約1200本の桜がある。総面積約53万平方mの広々とした園内一帯には、ソメイヨシノを中心に、オオカンザクラ、ヤマザクラなどのサクラが一斉に咲き誇る。花時には、ボンボリの灯りの下で、下町情緒たっぷりの宴会光景など、夜桜見物が楽しめる。

Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo – Ueno Park

Ueno Park is a large public park in central Tokyo.
It has more than 1100 cherry trees around Park and Shinobazu Pond.
This Park is one of Japan’s most crowded, noisy and
popular cherry blossom spots.
An estimated two million people will visit to experience
hanami while having a picnic party under the cherry blossom trees.
Small food stalls around the park add to the festival atmosphere.
About 1300 lanterns light up to extend hanami into the night sky.
